Management of Confined Spaces

The Management of Confined Spaces course is valid for 3 years and provides individuals with the skills and knowledge for managing work in a confined space environment and the ability to operate Safe Systems of Work under the Confined Space Regulations 1997.

Essential equipment for confined space working should include:

• Breathing apparatus (space sets/airline/SCBA)

• Entry and exit logs

• Portable lighting (intrinsically safe/ATEX approved)

• Communications (radios)

• Multi-gas monitors

• PPE (helmet, gloves, harness, RPE etc)

• Upskill employees and contractors - better knowledge and confidence for working in low risk confined space environments

• Better prepared - delegates will be able to identify low risk confined space entry points and response in the event of an incident or emergency

• Meeting compliance - better insight into legislation and responsibilities that affect your organisation as well as help to make your organisation compliant

• Able to apply safe systems of work - implement best practice procedures

• Hazard identification - have an understanding of the hazards associated with confined space environments

• Rescue techniques - apply associated rescue techniques
