Our Service Delivery Manager, Ian Marritt, recently returned from Moldova as part of the team representing the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO), a charity who provides professional rescue skills, training and expertise. The UKRO team of highly experienced and qualified rescue professionals is currently supporting the Moldovan Fire Service to improve its response to road traffic incidents and accidents.
Moldova suffers from a high level of road traffic accidents and this working partnership and collaboration will help to implement a more effective framework, structure and level of response to road traffic incidents. UKRO’s International Development Program (IDP) have agreed to support the Moldovan Fire Service for a five year period with the overall objective to develop a comprehensive process to enable self-management.
During this recent visit the UKRO IDP Team provided extrication and trauma training for 48 front line Moldovan fire-fighters and Command, Technical and Medical assessor training for the Civil Protection and Emergency Situation Service (CPESS).
Ian and Simon Heath from Humberside Fire & Rescue Service played a lead role in all training and activities.
