HFR Solutions CIC, we have been busy delivering a range of training courses to our clients, including fire safety, first aid, and incident command. We have also been working on multiple consultancy projects, providing bespoke solutions to help businesses manage their site risks. In addition, we have continued to support our local community by taking charities and non-profit organisations on our community canal boat, whilst supporting numerous community projects. As always, our team of experts are committed to providing the highest quality service to ensure the safety of our clients and communities.
ROAMER Training
We are beginning to rollout our new advanced medical standard, ROAMER. The Remote Operational Advanced Medical Emergency Response (ROAMER) course is one of the most progressive and up to date trauma courses currently available to professionals working in remote environments in the UK. The ROAMER course has been created by the minds behind URIECA.
The ROAMER standard was designed with the aim of reducing preventable pre-hospital deaths by training individuals operating in remote locations to identify and treat life-threatening injuries and prepare casualties for rapid evacuation to hospital. The course is designed specifically for those who work in challenging, remote environments and includes specific modules to cater for a variety of circumstances and surroundings identified by the renewable wind sector. This course focuses on both the initial point of contact with the casualty, to the extraction point. Scene management, including bespoke risk assessments, are part of the syllabus.
Incident Command Training
ABP, Immingham
"A great course instructed by Chris and Mark who are contagiously passionate about the subject area." - Joe Baxter, Howdens.
Keith Evans, Chris Harrison, and Mark McKenzie have delivered multiple Incident Command courses to ABP and Howdens personnel this month. Both the instructor's knowledge and the course content were rated 'Excellent' by all delegates.

Head Office Team Day Out
Our head office team had an amazing day out on our community canal boat, Tilly. The day out was not only enjoyable but also beneficial for our team dynamics and productivity.
Our Training Instructor, Tony Fill led a Heartstart and CPR session for the Solutions team. This training provides the necessary skills to perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and recognise the signs of a heart attack.
Spending time on the water can provide various health benefits such as reducing stress and anxiety, and boosting mental well-being. Being near water has been shown to elicit a calming effect on the mind and body, lowering cortisol levels and promoting relaxation.
Work Experience
"Thank you so much for such an amazing placement. I've had such a great time!" - Work Experience Student, Jasmine.
This month, we were joined by Year 10 work experience student, Jasmine. Throughout the week, Jasmine took part in a range of activities, ranging from voyaging on our community canal boat, Tilly, to observing our work at height exercise, to being a delegate on our Medium Risk Confined Space course. We were glad to hear that this experience was both fun and beneficial for Jasmine, and we wish her success in her future endeavours.
Filming Day on our Community Canal Boat
Earlier this month, Solutions personnel had a filming day on our community canal boat, Tilly, in order to produce our brand new safety briefing video. A safety briefing on a canal boat is essential to ensure the safety of all passengers on board. It covers information on emergency procedures, how to use safety equipment such as life jackets and fire extinguishers, and how to operate the boat safely. The briefing also highlights the potential hazards of canal boating, such as lock operations and navigating under bridges. By providing a comprehensive safety briefing, passengers can enjoy their canal boat experience with peace of mind, knowing that they are prepared for any unforeseen circumstances.
