Building Confidence and Aspirations Through an Unforgettable Experience Day

At HFR Solutions CIC, we’re passionate about delivering more than just emergency response training. As a Community Interest Company, our purpose goes beyond compliance — we reinvest profits directly back into the Humber region, supporting people, places, and programmes that build safer, stronger communities.

That’s why we were proud to welcome a group of Year 6 students from Quay Academy in Bridlington for a one-of-a-kind experience day delivered in partnership with Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University.

Who Are Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University?

Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University (HEY CU) is a local charity doing big things. They offer children from disadvantaged backgrounds access to enriching educational experiences they might not otherwise have — helping to raise aspirations, unlock potential, and develop life skills through real-world learning.

This shared mission made them a natural partner for HFR Solutions CIC.

A Day of Lifesaving Skills and Limitless Possibilities

From the moment they arrived, the students were immersed in hands-on, practical sessions that brought learning to life. With the help of our experienced team — including former firefighters, paramedics, police officers and more — the day gave young people the chance to:
• 🫀 Learn lifesaving skills: including CPR, how to use a defibrillator, and safe fire extinguisher use
• 🧗 Build confidence and teamwork: through physical challenges and support-based activities
• 🚒 Get inspired about careers: by hearing personal journeys into emergency services and resilience work

By stepping into our world for a day, these pupils left with new confidence, ideas for the future, and stories they’ll be telling for years.

Real Feedback, Real Impact

The feedback from both the children and staff speaks for itself:

“I wanted to be a plumber, but now I want to be a firefighter.”
– Harrison, aged 10

“My favourite part was when my friend Keira conquered her fear of heights. I was so proud of her!”
– Mylie, aged 10

“A super day all round. Well organised, friendly staff, engaging activities. Thank you!”
– Quay Academy teacher

These are the moments that matter — the lightbulb moments, the changed minds, the pride, and possibility.

What Makes a Community Interest Company Different?

As a Community Interest Company, HFR Solutions CIC isn’t driven by profit — we’re powered by purpose. That means when you book training courses with us, you’re also helping us deliver:
• Free or low-cost training for charities, schools, and youth organisations
• Resilience and safety programmes for local communities
• Direct support to children like those who joined us from Quay Academy

Every course helps fund future opportunities.

Looking Ahead — More Schools, More Futures

We’re incredibly proud of our Gold Partnership with HEY Children’s University and look forward to hosting more schools in the future.

If your organisation would like to get involved — whether through corporate sponsorship, outreach programmes or booking your own experience day — we’d love to hear from you.
