HFR Solutions CIC, working in partnership with Humberside Police, is proud to announce the formation of HUMBSAR (Humberside Search and Rescue). HUMBSAR is a new voluntary lowland search and rescue capability dedicated to supporting people across the Humber region.
HUMBSAR will assist during searches for vulnerable missing persons and strengthen the capacity of local emergency services during time-critical incidents. HFR Solutions CIC, based at the Humberside Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters in Hessle, is an established emergency response and workplace safety organisation. The creation of HUMBSAR reflects the continued commitment to community safety and lifesaving support.
Supporting Vulnerable People
HUMBSAR has been established to assist Humberside Police in locating vulnerable missing persons across urban, rural and woodland environments, as well as water margins. Volunteer Search Technicians will receive nationally recognised training that meets National Policing Search Standards and the National Police Concept of Operations.
Once trained, volunteers will be ready to deploy at the request of Humberside Police during live operations. Through the dedication of trained volunteers, HUMBSAR will provide a free and highly skilled resource that reduces pressure on statutory emergency services while offering vital support to individuals and families during challenging moments.
Training and Operational Readiness
All volunteers will undertake nationally recognised training delivered by qualified instructors under the guidance of the HUMBSAR Manager. Additional specialist skills, including water awareness and rescue, rope work and working at height, will be available. Future opportunities may include national flood response training to further strengthen regional resilience.
Built on Partnership, Driven by Purpose
HUMBSAR brings together the strengths of HFR Solutions CIC and Humberside Police, with volunteers playing a central role in the team’s development. Their commitment, compassion and professionalism will shape HUMBSAR as it becomes a trusted part of the region’s emergency response capability.
Jenni Drinkall, Commercial and Community Manager of HFR Solutions CIC, said: “Establishing HUMBSAR is a significant step in enhancing the region’s resilience. By bringing together skilled volunteers and the emergency services, we are strengthening our collective ability to support vulnerable people when it matters most.”

HFR Solutions CIC is seeking volunteers who are passionate about helping others and committed to regular training. No previous search and rescue experience is required.
