We were delighted to welcome px Group back to our headquarters on April 23rd and 28th for another round of impactful Safety Days, building on the success of last year’s events.
Our Safety Days focus on building a strong culture of safety, encouraging continuous learning, and putting wellbeing first — and this year’s events really delivered on that.
Inspiring Keynote Sessions
The day began with informative keynote talks that underscored the importance of safety. In the morning sessions, we heard from Brad Francis, a renowned motivational safety speaker, who shared his personal story and reminded us of the real-life importance of putting safety first.
Following Brad, Sean Gill from Andy’s Man Club delivered a moving session on the critical issue of men’s mental health, encouraging open conversations and breaking the stigma around mental wellbeing in the workplace.
For the second Safety Day, Leigh Smith stepped in to deliver an exciting update on Humberside Search and Rescue (HUMBSAR) — a vital new local volunteer service set to launch soon, which will enhance our regional emergency response capabilities. Keep monitoring our social media for updates.
Hands-On Learning and Skill Development
The heart of Safety Day was our practical training sessions. Delegates took part in five immersive, hands-on health and safety workshops led by industry experts and our own experienced instructors. Topics included:
- Hazard Identification
- CPR & Defibrillator Use
- Confined Space Communications
- Working at Height
- Spatial Awareness
These sessions not only refreshed essential safety knowledge but also encouraged real-time problem-solving and team collaboration in high-risk environments.
